On Friday, May 2, a fire broke out in our Gothics Room. Thanks to the rapid and skillful response of the Keene Valley Volunteer Fire Department, the fire was contained quickly. Most importantly, no one was injured. Their fast action and professionalism prevented what could have been a much more devastating loss.

While some areas of the inn were damaged, much of Trails End remains intact, and we are already at work on repairs and restoration. Our goal is to reopen as soon as possible and to welcome guests back with the warmth and charm they've always known here in Keene Valley.

We’ve been deeply touched by the support we’ve already received and have heard from many guests and community members asking how they can help. Here are a few meaningful ways to support Trails End Inn during this time:

• Reschedule Your Reservation – If you have an upcoming booking, we’ll do our best to keep you updated about your stay. Your patience and flexibility are incredibly helpful as we navigate this process. if your schedule can accommodate, consider delaying your stay until September 2025 or later.

• Sign up for updates below on our reopening and potential rebuilding events -- if you would like to be notified by email or text with more details about our reopening, including grand reopenings or special events, please let us know here. we will share relevant information as we rebuild.

• Book ahead for 2026 – We’re offering advance reservations for 2026 to help us plan for the future and continue serving our community. Your reservation deposits will help us stay afloat and meet our expenses while we aren't able to host guests.

• Support our impacted families -- some of our families were displaced in the fire and are beginning the process of rebuilding. if you'd like to contribute to their personal rebuilding journey, a GoFundMe has been set up on their behalf.

• Donate to the Keene Valley Volunteer Fire Department – Their bravery and quick action saved the inn. If you’re able, we’d be honored if you’d consider supporting them directly via their site
