Combining a beautiful natural setting in the heart of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks with a large house and front lawn, we can accommodate wedding parties from 45 to 175. Because we are 1/3 mile off the main road (Route 73), there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our grounds. The main house can accommodate about 50 guests, so the bridal party is conveniently housed right on site. With woods and mountains all around, we are secluded but still on the edge of our little town (Keene Valley). Whether your ceremony is in a church or on our grounds, the reception (and the rehearsal dinner) can be held here. Our site is perfect for casual dinners, barbecues, or formal, linen-napkin affairs. Whatever the elements of your dream wedding, we will help you to realize it.
We do have to limit the number of weddings we can have here each year so our regular guests won't be disappointed, so we generally can only have one wedding per month and none in the months of July, August or September. The months of June and late October are ideal, when the trails are a bit less crowded and the beauties of the season will make your wedding memorable.
What are the size requirements?
We have a total of 13 rooms here on the grounds, so about 50 guests can be housed here. A wedding party must rent the entire inn for both Friday and Saturday nights for a Saturday wedding (non-wedding guests might be a bit disconcerted by the tent in the front yard!). Only registered guests and members of the wedding party use the inside of the building during the ceremony. All other activities are outdoor in all seasons. How do I arrange for the tent, caterers and photographers, etc,?
We highly recommend using wedding coordinators from our local area to ensure that your plans adapt to the house and its setting. We can provide you with a list of local service providers and wedding planners, if you like. We require that you have in place an event and alcohol liability insurance policy. Many homeowner's insurance policies offer these short-term policies. If you would like to check services from another provider, one sort of policy is offered by companies such as WedSafe.
What is the cost?
In addition to two nights' lodging rental of the entire inn, there is a space rental. The amount depends on the size and season of the wedding, but is never less than $1,000. It can be $1,500 or more for a large wedding. We can provide your rehearsal dinner, served buffet style or with table service. You can see our menu suggestions for ideas.
How do I reserve a date?
We are happy to talk with you about possible dates. We require a reservation fee at the time of booking. This will guarantee your date and ensure no one else can book for that weekend. This fee is non-refundable 7 days after the reservation is made. This fee will be applied to your final bill.
