A Light Hand
We try to run the Inn with a “light hand” in that we are available to our guest when they want to see us, but we try to be unobtrusive at all other times. We have a self check-in system so the guests can check-in with or without assistance whenever they arrive. We, or our staff, are available if any guest needs assistance (just ring the doorbell), but we try to give our guests the greatest undisturbed experience with a welcoming hand if they desire.
We cannot absorb late cancellations and changes in plans due to weather or reasons beyond our control. For reservations that are canceled or changed 14 days or more prior to the arrival date, we will refund the deposit, less a $20 handling fee. We attempt to re-book any cancellations made fewer than 14 days prior to the arrival date. If we are able to fully re-book the reservation then only the $20 cancellation fee is due. However, in the event we are unable to fully re-book the reservation, then we will charge the cancelling guest for the part not re-booked. Early departures are charged for the full stay as reserved.
All rooms are based on double occupancy and the cottages are based upon four persons. Added persons over the age of 15 yrs old are charged $25 per day, under 15 years old are charged $20 per day.
Weekend Stays, One Night
We allow one night stays on the weekends, except from July thru October 15th.
A valid credit card and a deposit of one-half the stay are due at the time the reservation is made. The remaining half is due at the time of departure.
Arrival and Departure
Rooms are available for check-in at 2:00 pm. Departure is at 11:00 am. While we make every attempt to accommodate early arrivals, we cannot guarantee room availability before 2:00 pm. However we would be happy to store your luggage in the event of early arrival or late departure.
Quiet Hours/Whirlpool Tubs
Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM until 7:00 AM. During this time guests are requested to avoid making any excessive noise. The Inn’s walls carry sound and it is just common courtesy that we ask all guests to consider everyone’s quiet enjoyment of the Inn. Because of the sound generated by the whirlpool tubs, they are not to be used after 10:00 P.M. or before 7:00 A.M.
Well-behaved children over the age of eight are welcome. The Inn cannot accommodate children under the age of eight because younger children, as a rule, are just noisier and not always willing to take direction. We want all of our guests to enjoy their time here and that is not promoted by kids running and yelling in the Inn. With that said, we realize that not all children are alike and we have several families that come with young kids that are mindful of the other guests and are more than welcome.
We don't know your child, so we leave the decision up to you. Just please be honest and think if you were a guest looking forward to a peaceful getaway, would you want to be around your child? If so, we will look forward to having your child come to stay with us.
Children are charged $20 per day for children under 15 years old, over 15 they are charged $25.
We allow well-behaved, non-barking, and properly trained and vaccinated dogs in the Esther Room, Haystack, Hurricane & Marcy Suites, Algonquin, Blueberry, and Cascade Cottages. We allow dogs in these rooms because the rooms are either next to an exit or have their own entrance so the dogs don't have to go through the Inn (we have two dogs of our own, but not everyone is as crazy about dogs as we are.) We charge $20 a day for a dog and we have "dog rules" which we will provide to those who are thinking of bringing their dog. We do limit the number of dogs here at the Inn at any one time, so please call and confirm that it is okay to bring your dog.
Television & Radio
In keeping with the tranquil setting of the Inn, very few rooms have televisions or radios. There is a television in the common living room and the cottages are equipped with both televisions and radios
Cooking in the Rooms
There is absolutely no cooking in any of the rooms in the Inn. The only exceptions are the use of microwaves in those rooms that have them. Any cooking, including making “s-mores,” in any of the rooms will result in immediate termination of the stay, with no refund.
A microwave and full size fridge are available in the common kitchenette and outdoor propane grills are provided for use of all the guests. You can eat your dinner outside on a picnic table or on the porch or inside in your room or in the game room (the room to the far right as you enter the front door). We ask that you do not eat your dinner in the breakfast room because it has been sanitized and readied for breakfast.
All of the cottages have full kitchens and you are welcome to cook in those accommodations.
